Many thanks to everyone for coming to thank John for all of his hard work these past 5 years,
bringing the Saint David's Hockey program to where it is today!
The evening included Aussie food and drink (of course!), a tribute DVD, and
our very own "poet in residence" wrote and dedicated his most recent work to John!
Coach Murphy also announced the initiation of
"The John Shanahan Achievment Award"
which will be presented at the end of each season to a player
who best represents Saint David's hockey,
distinguishing himself by his sportsmanship, ability, and committment.
The name of the boy will be engraved on the trophy,
which will be kept at the 94th Street Gym in the trophy case.
